“Save the bees!” Anyone who’s read the news knows that pollinators are a hot topic in today’s agricultural landscape. But how can you practice pollinator stewardship in your own ornamental growing operation, while reducing pest damage and maintaining crop marketability? Researchers from UCCE have studied the attractiveness of frequently grown San Diego County ornamental plants to a variety of pollinators and other beneficial insects. Learn about the science of pollination, common types of native bees and other pollinators, the ornamental plants they rely on for resources, and how to practice insect conservation in your own operation.
