Everyone is a Scientist – a One-Day Citizen-Scientist Project
To honor the tie between research and citizen science, University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) is asking all Californian's to become a scientist on May 8th and participate in a one-day science project. UCCE is building a statewide online database of citizens’ observations and input regarding pollinators, community food sources and your water use. The surveys are quick and easy and the online maps will display the data in real-time.

The three research questions are:
  • How are you conserving water?
  • How many pollinators do you see?
  • Where is food grown in your community?
Information reported by Californian’s will better inform efforts to understand what’s happening to our food supplies and natural resources. The responses will help us build a healthier future for communities throughout California. This is a great opportunity for Californian’s to participate in UC research, and help guide the future of UC research and education efforts.
