Purpose. The Area Citrus IPM Advisor is responsible for conducting research, extension and education programs in integrated pest management for arthropod pests of citrus with the goal of improving production and economic viability of citrus production in the San Joaquin Valley.
- Address issues in management of arthropod pests of citrus using IPM strategies through applied research and extension education programs to disseminate information to San Joaquin Valley citrus production and industry clientele.
- Support pest management in citrus production throughout California.
- The Area IPM Advisor will be a member of the University of California Statewide Integrated Pest Management Program (ipm.ucanr.edu) and will participate in UC IPM activities, including development and review of UC IPM online and print publication, organizational meetings, and other programmatic activities relevant to the mission and strategic plan of the Program.

This position is co-funded by Citrus Research Board for a period of ten years with intent for co-funded renewal. Continuation beyond the initial ten-year term is contingent upon agreement by both UC ANR and Citrus Research Board, with review of need and available funding taking place before the term end date. This is not an academic career-track appointment and is not eligible for indefinite status.
