The Disability Management Service Coordinator (DMS Coordinator) serves as the primary coordinator and resource to UC Agriculture and Natural Resources academics, staff, and program participants assuring consistent application of disability-related federal (ADA) and applicable state laws, University policies, and procedures. The DMS Coordinator evaluates academic and staff employees with respect to the Interactive Process and Reasonable Accommodation when an employee’s work is impacted by a medical condition, illness or disability. The DMS Coordinator provides guidance and training and develops programs to promote workplace health, safety and wellness for UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR).

The DMS Service Coordinator provides advice, consultation, union contract and UC policy interpretation to UC ANR managers and supervisors on disability management issues, including the Interactive Process, Reasonable Accommodation, Fitness for Duty Examinations, Reassignment and Medical Separations. The DMS Coordinator handles highly confidential and sensitive assignments that involve substantial complexity and require collaboration with ANR and UC leadership, including Employee and Labor Relations, Staff and Academic Human Resources, Vice Provost of Research and Extension, University Counsel, UC Davis DMS manager, ANR and UCOP Risk and Safety Services. The DMS Service Coordinator also collaborates with the University's workers' compensation Third Party Administrator, physicians, medical treatment providers, outside legal counsel, as well as state and federal agency representatives.

This position is a contract appointment that is 100% fixed and is scheduled to end one year from the date of hire.

The home department is Human Resources. While this position normally is based in Davis, CA, this position is eligible for full remote work arrangement.

Pay Scale: $80,800 - $117,100/yr

This position will promote, in all ways consistent with the other responsibilities of the position, accomplishment of the Affirmative Action goals established by the Division.
