The Compost Education Program Coordinator (CEPC) will conduct, manage, and evaluate the Compost Education program in Santa Clara County. Compost education is provided to community members and schools through a combination of direct education and volunteer management. The coordinator will plan and develop curriculum on organic materials management covering topics such as home composting, vermicomposting, waste reduction, and compost application-to landscapes and gardens.
Responsibilities include training, guiding, and supporting Master Composter Volunteers with education, information and resources; identifying and developing evaluation tools for the program; collecting and compiling enrollment data; developing program budget; and writing reports in compliance with funding requirements. The coordinator will maintain a network of partners and lead long-range strategic planning for the program.
The coordinator will manage the Master Composter volunteer program. The position will coordinate the recruitment and training of a new class of Master Composter volunteers every 2 years, and provide continuing education training for veteran Master Composters on a monthly basis.
This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.
Pay Scale: $64,600 /year to $88,800 /year
