UCCE Healthy Garden-Healthy Home Program
Featured Story
Do you have a love for plants and growing your own fruits and vegetables? Not everyone has a green thumb so a little direction can go a long way towards helping to support your gardening efforts. The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) San Diego County has just the program to help you get things started.
Our Healthy Garden-Healthy Home program gives residents in San Diego County an opportunity to improve sustainable gardening and water management.
Supported by the UCCE San Diego County Master Gardeners our Healthy Home Healthy Garden team includes 25 members who have undergone extensive in-depth Integrated Pest Management (IPM) training in order to provide a wide outreach to San Diego Gardeners.
Every year, around winter and spring, we offer free community workshops where you can gain knowledge; such as, How to Win the Battle Against Pests, How to Grow A Salsa Garden, Growing Fresh Herbs for Cooking, and much more. If you're interested in attending one one of these events you'll find a link on this page with more information.
We also encourage you to visit our Healthy Garden-Healthy Home website where you can find quick tips on how to deal with common pests, ornamental horticulture, and weeds.
